Options Consultancy Services Limited was established in 1992, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Marie Stopes International. Our first major contract was DFID’s Resource Centre in Population and Reproductive Health (1992–1999). Since this time, Options has evolved into a dynamic organisation with a broad portfolio of work that includes over 700 health and social sector assignments in more than 50 countries. We work with a range of partners and clients that includes donors, national governments, the private sector, academic institutions, and civil society. Historically our strengths lie in reproductive and sexual health and HIV & AIDS.  While these critical areas remain at the heart of the organisation, our work has expanded to encompass the provision of expertise in areas as diverse as social protection, performance management, demand-side financing and output-based aid – united within a framework of support to national governments for the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals for health and poverty reduction.

 

In addition to our international portfolio, Options launched Design Options in 2006 to provide fresh, innovative and practical solutions for service providers, policy makers and commissioners in the UK.  Since its inception, Design Options has developed a rapidly expanding body of work, where clients have included the clinics of our parent company Marie Stopes International and a growing group of UK primary care trusts, strategic health authorities and the Department of Health.
