Options' Board of Directors are responsible for setting the objectives and strategic direction for the company. Members of Options' Board of Directors are:
Dana Hovig, Chair Dana Hovig is the Chief Executive of Marie Stopes International. Dana was the Managing Director of Options from 2003–2005. From 1991–2003, he was with Population Services International, where he oversaw and provided technical assistance to over 35 social marketing programmes. Dana co-designed, launched, and managed the Green Star social franchising programme in Pakistan.
Dr Tim Black Tim Black is the founder and was the Chief Executive of Marie Stopes International, the leading family planning charity providing comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, including HIV & AIDS in Europe, Latin America, Africa and Asia. In 1992, Tim founded Options as a subsidiary of Marie Stopes International. Tim also co-founded Population Services International.
Henrietta Search
Henrietta Search was the Managing Director of Options from its inception in 1992 until 2003. She is now an independent consultant. Henrietta is an experienced manager who works with organisations on strategic planning, organisational development and human resource planning and management. She is on the Board of Directors of LEPRA who work in leprosy, HIV & AIDS, TB and Malaria and is a member of Interact Worldwide.
Dr Linda Humphrey Linda Humphrey has provided consultancy to health development programmes for over 25 years. She specialises in international health care planning and management, public health, and applying sector-wide approaches to health development. Linda has led project design teams for donor-funded programmes and has advised donor health policies.
Professor Michael Adler Michael Adler is a Professor at Royal Free and University College Medical School. He has written extensively about STIs and AIDS, and was the founding editor of the journal AIDS in 1986. Michael is a Board member of the International AIDS Trust. He is a special strategy and implementation advisor on the Department of Health Independent Sexual Health Advisory Group, and is currently the adviser for the National Review of GUM Services.
Professor Tony Barnett
Tony Barnett is a leading authority on the social and economic impact of HIV and AIDS. He is a Professorial Research Fellow in the Development Studies Institute at the London School of Economics. He is holder of Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Professorial Research Fellowships. Tony co-facilitates policy research workshops, and was co-author of the bestselling book AIDS in the 21st Century: disease and globalisation.
Todd Petersen
Todd Petersen is the Managing Director of Options. Prior to joining Options as Managing Director in March 2006, Todd held a number of senior management positions in a broad range of international development organisations, and has managed large health programmes in a number of countries. Todd holds an MPA from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard.
