John Naponick is a highly experienced medical doctor who specialises in maternal and reproductive health.  John has 30 years' clinical and managerial experience, working extensively in South and South East Asia, including training service providers in Cambodia. John has held several senior clinical positions, including seven years as Senior Medical Associate for AVSC International (the Association of Voluntary Surgical Contraception - now Engender Health ), in which he was responsible for the medical quality of AVSC's long term family planning services and also post-abortion services. He also acted as a health expert for United States Agency for International Development (USAID) for eight years delivering reproductive health programmes in Burma and Bangladesh. In his last post, he was Medical Director in Louisiana, USA, where was was responsible for a $12 million dollar public health programme. His skills include project design and management, service delivery, development and implementation of training, monitoring and evaluation and supervision systems and financial management. He speaks several languages, including French, and is married to a Cambodian physician.
