Louise Hulton
Maternal and Newborn Health Technical Lead
 
Louise Hulton has over 15 years' experience working in national and international health systems to improve the delivery of reproductive and sexual health services with an emphasis on maternal health. As an experienced statistician and demographer she brings technical expertise in participation and consultation. Her experience includes quality assurance of maternal and newborn health services and health systems in maternity services. Louise has extensive research experience in both qualitative and quantitative research methods. She also has considerable operational expertise in health information systems and use of data for decision-making.

Louise is skilled at developing government policy and local and national standards for maternity and neonatal care. Louise is a Non Executive Director of a UK Primary Care Trust and was formerly Chair of a multi disciplinary group to improving maternal standards. She has worked in Burkina Faso, Guatemala, India, Mexico, Nepal, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Uganda. Louise gained her PhD at Southampton University in Quality of Care in Maternity Services and attended the Harvard Kennedy School of Government and School of Public Health as a Kennedy Memorial Trust Scholar.
