Technical Assistance Support Team, Madhya Pradesh, India
The Technical Assistance Support Team (TAST) supported the Government of Madhya Pradesh’s Public Health and Family Welfare Department and the Department for Women and Children’s Development in achieving the objectives of the health reform programme – the Madhya Pradesh Health Sector Reform Programme. The programme ran from 2008--2012.
The Health Sector Reform Programme aims to bring about increased use of quality health services, especially by the poorest people and in underserved areas. The programme has six main outputs:
Improvement in equitable access to quality public healthcare services
Improvement in accountability of health services
Strengthening organisational structure and human resource management systems
Ensuring adequacy and effectiveness of funding
Participation and regulation of private service providers
Integrated service delivery to reduce malnutrition and improve child health.
TAST worked with the Public Health and Family Welfare Department and the Department for Women and Children’s Development towards achieving the agreed milestones of the reform programme. TAST provided expertise in:
