Advocacy

PEER produces compelling and immediate insights into health and development, as they are experienced by communities themselves. For advocacy, the method delivers:

  • Authentic stories and experiences, which form a rich source for advocacy materials, such as case studies
  • An opportunity for often hard-to-reach communities to give voice to their issues and priorities
  • The chance to build strong relationships between participants and programmes, the starting point for future advocacy work
The PEER unit focuses on supporting programmes in translating research evidence into clear strategies and communications outputs; harnessing the power of voices captured in the process.
PEER has been used extensively in the DFID-funded Reduction in Maternal Mortality Project, Cambodia  managed by Options. Click here to learn more about the programme.
